At Southern Forest Arts, our projects grow from the ground up – shaped by the people, places and stories of the Southern Forests & Valleys.
Each project is a genuine collaboration, bringing together artists, community members, schools, and cultural organisations to create something meaningful and lasting.
From statewide initiatives to intimate local programs, our work explores what art can do when it’s deeply rooted in place.
PROJECT PHILOSOPHY
Where possible our projects are always grass-roots examples of ABCD principles (Asset Based Community Development).
CURRENT PROJECTS
Southern Forest Arts is a lead partner in the WA Regional Arts Triennial – a statewide initiative connecting regional artists, communities and galleries in a shared conversation about place, identity and creativity.
Waangka Danjoo Nyininy – Our Yarning Circle
A community-led cultural project creating a dedicated place on Pibulmun Noongar boodja for culture-sharing, storytelling and intergenerational connection. Developed in deep collaboration with local Aboriginal community members, artists and the Shire of Manjimup, it stands as one of Southern Forest Arts’ most significant and meaningful initiatives.
