Kim Perrier casting Noongar elder, Wayne Webb, for his sculpture series, Rising from the Ashes, commissioned by Southern Forest Arts for the understory Art & Nature Trail, Northcliffe, WA

Projects developed and delivered by Southern Forest Arts can be incredibly diverse; from state-wide initiatives involving hundreds of artists and over 50 arts organisations over several years, to smaller activities with a handful of participants that are short-term and locally based.

PROJECT PHILOSOPHY

Where possible our projects are always grass-roots examples of ABCD principles (Asset Based Community Development).

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands upon which we live and work, in particular those from Pibbulmun country within the Noongar Nation, where we are based.

We recognise that Aboriginal sovereignty was never ceded and that Australia was and always will be Aboriginal Land.

We pay our respect to Elders past and present and look forward to supporting those that are just emerging.
