Mystic Youth marks the beginning of youth-driven and youth-oriented exhibitions supported by Southern Forest Arts. This annual initiative offers young people aged 13–25 across the South West the opportunity to showcase their creativity within a professional gallery setting.
This year, the Painted Tree Gallery in Northcliffe will host 59 artworks created by emerging artists aged 13–25 between September 9 and October 19, 2025. The exhibition will be a vibrant platform where the hearts, minds, and souls of the next generation are revealed through art.
A Stage for Young Voices
Mystic Youth is more than an exhibition — it’s an ideas amplifier. It’s a place where young voices are not only heard, but encouraged, connected, and celebrated. It invites peers, parents, and the wider community to witness the loud, delicate, curious, and complex perspectives of today’s youth.
Theme: Imagination Untethered
This year’s theme encourages artists to step beyond the boundaries of reality and explore the limitless possibilities of creativity. It’s a call to:
- Break away from logic rooted in reality
- Play with the dreamlike, the abstract, and the surreal
- Bring incomprehensible mental images into the physical world for others to experience
Shaping the Unreal
Imagination Untethered celebrates art without limits — no rules, just pure creativity. It is a space where young minds unravel reality, shape the surreal unknown, and redefine what is possible.
Through their work, young artists are invited to challenge perception, embrace abstraction, and manifest visions of the impossible.
