8 of the artists will converge in Northcliffe for a one week residency to share ideas, insights, skills, resources and practices in the development of new work that explores, celebrates and interacts with the Southern Forests region of southwest Western Australia. During this period, selected artists will run masterclasses in different aspects of environmentally and social engaged practice.
The gathering that sits alongside the exhibition will provide ample and accessible opportunities for WA artists, and local and regional communities to meet visiting artists, to learn about their practice through artist talks and to participate in hands on workshops.
This project presents a significant step forward in the ongoing evolution of Southern Forest Arts and our commitment to working with the arts as a vessel for connecting community to nature and culture.
