Shake off the dust from 2024 in an all ages, family-friendly, ‘dance because it makes you feel happy’.
Friday 6th December, Northcliffe Town Hall.

Shake your booty like no one is watching. The lights will be low and the pressure to be anything other than your self will be switched off. This will be a safe space to dance however makes you feel good.
Not a dance class, competition, or pick up joint, this is a chance to loosen your inhibitions in the company of others also letting their guard down. Come solo, with a friend, your Nanna, neighbour, with or without your partner/kids. Out-of-towners welcome. We’re creating a community of shared interest.
This is a bit of an experiment…so come with low/no expectations.
- Adults $10
- Kids $5
- Family group (6 or less) $25
Here are the basic principles of respect to get us started:
- – You don’t have to be a ‘good’ dancer, you just need to enjoy dancing
- – Bring an open mind
- – This is not a space for onlookers. If you haven’t come to dance, stay home.
- – Arrive on time
- – No-judgements about how others like to move
- – Wear whatever you like, except your birthday suit
- – Respect everyone else’s personal space
- – If you’re bringing kids you need to be 100% responsible for them at all times
- – No alcohol or drugs
- – Hydration & energy snacks are your responsibility
- – Stretching & moving within your body’s limits are your responsibility
- – Help clean up at the end of the evening
- – When its over, its over
If you’re not being respectful, you’ll be asked to leave.
The music is a set playlist by a local volunteer, featuring a range of music styles. It will start cruisy so you can warm up, building in intensity before a final warm down.
It’s important that you arrive on time so we can all start together to build a sense of trust.
Doors open at 7pm. Arrive by 7:15 for a welcome circle. You can leave whenever you like. Event should finish around 9pm.
We hope to make it a more regular event in future. We’ll be listening to suggestions & learning about how it can evolve.
