Kerry is a ‘born and bred’ Manjimup artist. She has lived with a life-long disability that have created challenges throughout her life but have never diminished her capacity for joy and creativity.
Kerry has been drawing since she was a child. It has always given her great pleasure. Her work focuses on animals, everyday life, and scenes from history. Her work can be incredibly varied from humorous caricatures to astute observations of the world around her.
In recent years Kerry has dedicated her craft to intricate line drawings, developing a style that is uniquely her own. Her drawing The End of an Era is part of a series of works exploring mill sites across the region. Kerry’s work is in many private local collections and has even been exhibited overseas.
Kerry experienced a life-threatening form of meningitis as a child. During the emergency journey to hospital in Perth, she stopped breathing, resulting in epilepsy and other debilitating health complications.
She is a gregarious, fun-loving character with a ready smile and story to share.
Kerry has an artwork currently on display in the ‘My Own Private Universe’ exhibition currently on show at the Painted Tree Gallery. For more info about the event visit our exhibition page.
