Documentary: ‘Climate Kids’ produced by the ABC featuring Understory, local artist Peter Hill and students from Bridgetown Primary School.
We’re extremely proud to share this short documentary released yesterday by the ABC celebrating Southern Forest Arts’ current project, ‘Home’.
Created to complement the ABC’s ‘Space 22’ series ‘Climate Kids’ features students from Bridgetown Primary School and Northcliffe artist, Peter Hill, using creativity as a vehicle to support mental health and wellbeing in response to climate change.
The film follows students participating in a tour of the Understory Art & Nature Trail and building habitats for forest creatures large and small. These will be sited on the trail as part of a large sculptural installation next month.
Thanks to the ABC for sharing our vision, Scotia Monkovitch and the Creative Recovery Network for championing the role of arts in community recovery from natural disasters, Sam from Periscope Pictures for his beautiful videography, Peter Hill for his generosity and Bridgetown Primary School for coming on this journey with us.
