Overview
Regional Arts WA and Southern Forest Arts are looking forward to delivering a dynamic, career-developing, two-day Creative Leadership Program in the Southern Forests & Valleys region in 2021.
This program is being delivered across regional Western Australia through the Regional Arts Network to help facilitate a culture of self-led leadership, collaborative leadership, and community-led contribution.
The content of the Creative Leadership Program is created from neuropsychology and neuroscience literature on creativity. This expansive body of research provides a robust framework to enact creative practice, facilitate creative enterprises, and become leaders in the creative industries.

The Model
The Model is iterative and bespoke: the offer brings your own ideas, problems, and communities to play in the Creative Leadership Program as the skills are unpacked and enacted.
The Creative Leadership Program covers two modules across two days:
- Module 1 – Being Creative: Creative practice skills that everyone can use, no matter the situation. These micro-skills are easy to access and research has shown you will have a better than even chance at being creative when you need to be. No background in creative practice is needed to develop these skills.
- Module 2 – Creativity in Groups: Leadership processes for working with groups that need to think laterally and produce creative solutions. Creativity is most often a group endeavour. This module articulates the factors that guide groups toward creative solutions.
Each participant will be provided two packs of evidence-based resource cards to assist in their Leadership development. These function as a manual to the information delivered while modelling many of the creative skills through their design.
